A Gypsy is a Gypsy

This post is dedicated to my cousin who shares a mutual interest in any and all wedding shows. That’s maybe what we do or talk about each time we see each other. Maybe.

TLC’s My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding is about actual gypsies and travellers in the UK. At first, I wasn’t quite sure if gypsy was an urban dictionary word for another group of people, other than the Hunchback of Notre Dame Esmeralda-type. But no, it’s the same. The show originally premiered in the UK and, lucky for us, is airing in the US! Although, the season ends today, rest assured, there is a new series “in development that will explore the lives of gypsies and travellers in America.”

Here’s a clip of tonight’s episode.

Have a safe and explosive 4th of July!

WDW 3 – Pt.2

The day has arrived!  I would like to present the exclusive world premiere of the Disney World Party Rock Anthem, featuring (from oldest to youngest) Tommy, Liz, Teddy, Brandon and Trisha.  Hope you enjoy my version of highlights from our family vacation home videos.

Edit: Here is the original Daily Motion video I posted. Vimeo is better. :)

Showered With Love

There’s a trend a brewin’ for baby and bridal showers – the men are being invited, too!!

One of my favorite things about event planning is giving people a first look at an event through the invitation.  Here are two invites from Invitation Box that are perfect for a mixed bride and groom shower.

Online Financial Planning Session

A dear friend of mine told me about a very informative online chat session, about financial planning, for couples getting married.  This really could be helpful for many married couples.

Here’s more information:

The Wedding Q&A Cocktail Hour is coming to Twitter! Join Maxine Sweet, Vice President Public Education for Experian, and Kimberly Schlegel Whitman, Wedding Planning Expert, on June 14, 2011.

Maxine and Kimberly will be online from 4-6 pm PT (7-9 pm ET) answering questions on how to Live Credit Smart as a couple! It all starts with planning a wedding on a budget which leads to joint checking accounts, major purchases and saving for retirement. The decisions couples make now can impact their credit and financial future, so couples should start their life together on the right financial foot by getting educated!

Those who submit a question will be entered to win one of five $250 American Express gift cards. It’s the perfect little boost for that wedding budget, a helpful extra payment toward paying down debt or it could be used for something fun during this special time!

Tweet your questions by using #happilyeverafter and @Experian_US!

WDW 3 – Pt.1

My Walt Disney World Premier pass has expired.  (The pass that allows you to go to both Disney parks in California and all of the Disney parks in Florida.)  I was thrilled to be able to have the funds to purchase the $700.00 pass in the first year of its availability.

Today I was sad because this was my first full day back from Orlando AND I wasn’t able to make any Internet money off of a video we were filming for.  (That’s what the Vo family does, makes videos of every vacation.)  The video of Tigger doing the Dougie has made so much Internet money.  (Not linking that video, because I selfishly don’t want it to make anymore Internet money.)  I feel like my dream became their reality.  Boo.

Anyhoo, Vo vacations and family events are very well documented.  I was going to leave my point and shoot camera at home, but I thought I would contribute in taking photos.  I did not take any photos with my camera and just let the rest of the crew Teddy, Trisha and Brandon take photos of me.

I might take a bit of a break from chatting about weddings to sulk and remember the good ole days with my pass.

For now, I leave you with a photo from Dobby Photography Brandon Chan.  Who do you think drew the best Donald?  (HINT: You better choose the right one, that’s all I’m saying.)

They Were Once Young & Married

Let’s take a little walk down Memory Lane.  Look at these gorgeous photos of when a few of the rich and famous got married.  They may not have stayed married for long, but these images will stay classics forever.

Taking the Plunge

I love anything to do with the sea/underwater (and yes, I’m especially excited for the Little Mermaid attraction to open at Disney’s California Adventures).  So, when there’s an underwater wedding save the date, I could just die and go to heaven…you know, since the rapture is tomorrow.

People are just so creative!  The girl didn’t even need to get hair or make-up done for this engagement shoot.  She was ready to trash that vintage styled dress.  LOVE IT!!

To check out more from this shoot see the full post on the Steep Street blog.
